Anyone use one of them on your Kayak? If so what brand did you get and how easy is it to clean. Thanks

Can't be beat... Even cools your fish by evaporative cooling if kept wet...
Some Basamate Rice comes in lined zippered burlap sacs...
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I use a Trident Lobster Game Bag.........not free but is pretty handy since it is spring loaded and opens wide with just one hand.

Excellent for crabs, fish and lobster. Very durable too.

I used to take out both burlap and a game bag. Now unless I'm going for something special like salmon or seabass, I just take the game bag. Doubles to fill the "net requirement" if the opening is 18+". I've netted plenty of RF & a few halis in it.

I'm also interested in a Kill bag.  I like to bleed and ice my fish ASAP, especially for salmon fishing in the summer on the rivers.

I don't always use a bag, but when I do, I make sure to use a burlap sack and tie it to the yak.  The last time I flipped my yak I lost my bag and all the goodies inside it.  Never again.

Surf to Summit Large fish bag. Don't get the small one. Will hold 2 salmon to 30# or 1 WSB to 50#. Fits in the rear tank well or AI trampoline. I bring a bag of ice and bleed, gut and gill the fish and pack the belly with ice then into the bag. The meat comes out commercial grade. I think Danny and Jim have the same bag. On a hot day where you going to be out there for more than an hour after catch, it makes a huge difference. Nice for keeping your food and drinks cool also. For rockfish I just use a burlap bag. However for saltwater big game, it's no ka oi.

Game Clip or Stringer for me.... keeps my catch alive and fresh!

Except for Dungies, I use a Trident Dive bag for them; has smaller webbing for the little buggers to grab hold of....

If it's sharky, like the Bean, I have a cooler that fits behind me, I'll keep a frozen bottle of water in it and bleed the fish as soon as I catch them and in the box. Kind of a bloody mess at the end of the day but the fillets come out super clean and no blood in the water.
No sharks, I have a white towel I put over the fish, just keep it wet. Or on the clip in the water and keep an eye out for hungry things...

+1 on the burlap sacks working great or even a towel would work. Mel Cotton's sells them if you can't find them for free.

For larger fish, I use a C&R 20"x60" kill bag. It's water tight at the bottom (Reliable are not) and cleans easily with a spray hose. I'll use the katchkooler 40"x16" for salmon to keep the pink meat as fresh as possible.

Hai what do you think of the KatchKooler overall? It is definitely one of the more affordable of the kill bags.

Wow, lots of good ideas but still favoring a good quality kill bag that would fit in a Kayak. Mostly for storing Salmon, Halibut, Striper, Rock fish and fresh water fish like Trout and Kokanee. I like the idea of storing a small 10-20 pound bag of ice inside and a separate smaller bag for food & beverages within. Your catch stays so much fresher when you clean and store. I'm not fond of hanging my catch overboard because of incidents that happened to me before. Once with a Seal trying to board my boat from the transom and the other time we we were fishing the Farralon island when big Whitey breached 30 yards back off the port side transom then swam under the boat. Dam that monster was over 20 feet long and 4-5 foot wide when we watched it cruise under our boat. After that we headed back to the coast.
