Hi Everyone

I've been offered a job at Sea Ranch. I'm asking for any information on the area. I'm looking for information on: what's it like living in the area?, is there any affordable housing?, I'm looking for a studio or cabin in the country.

I would appreciate any and all insight.

Thanks

Does that mean you are going to provide special NCKA members access to dive / fish the area  :smt003

Beautiful area. Especially if you like whiney rich folks that are disgusted by fisherpeople.

Have you tried Craigslist for rentals in Gualala, or called a local real estate office, they may have a local rental agency contact.

I did look at rents in the hills above Ft Ross a few years back and they were higher than I expected, of course these were houses.

Those are NOT the people who grew up there, at least in my experience. I think those folks moved in from other places. . .

As the area is a vacation destination, the prices are fairly high for what you get. I've seen 1 bedroom studios just up the hill on the East side of the highway in the Gualala zone with some blue water views that go for about $850 per month and up. They have a lot of weekend population, retirees and upscale professionals visiting.

My bet is that if you were there for awhile, you would meet some folks that know some folks with studios, guest cottages or the like that might be had for a bit less than advertised in the ICO or on CL. Something a bit further up the hill without water views.

You are probably right. I haven't had the best experiences there. I've always assumed that Sea Ranch was a planned richey rich community / vacation destination and not a real town so to speak. I've had a much better vibe the further north I've traveled.

Burbank housing offers affordable income based rentals in Sea Ranch. But dont tell anyone  :smt002.Why not live in Point Arena?Thirty minutes away.
