I took up running last fall but due to some personal reasons I stopped running at the end of November. I just started running again just a little over a week ago. Running 2 miles everyday with the occasional 3 thrown in. Decided to push it a little and ran 4.19 today. The terrain where I live isn't easy (Arnold) 4,000+ elevation with lots of hills. Pretty proud of myself since I weigh just under 250.

I lost 7 pounds the first week of running. Went from 256 to 249. Hoping to get down to 200 by summer

Any of you guys on Nike+? Looking for some motivation!

I really want to develop the discipline and consistency to run every day - it's more like every couple weeks for me...  I just did two miles.  It feels so good to do it and get it done, but it's hard to motivate...

Keep at it, Bro.   :smt001

I wish there was an easy way to motivate myself, but I just can't get past the notion that I really dislike running.  I've tried everything I can think of to try to like it.  I'd rather row, paddle, climb stairs, or ride a bike than run.

running is hard.  But that's why its effective.  For fitness, pain = pleasure.  embrace the suck :smt044

Its kinda like fishing on the windward side of a big wash rock.  you suspect that's where the fish hold, yet its far more comfortable downwind . . .

I think I saw Yakuza running through my neighborhood the other day.  Yo Martin, you don't need to wear that vest in my neighborhood.

I tried to take up jogging again, but with two bad knees it hurts like a mother.  Totally bummed especially since I ran a lot of cross country growing up and actually enjoy it.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

I havent tried any other apps other than Nike+. But I love it, lets me keep good track of each run. Goal is to hit 1,000 miles by 2015. I'd have to run 2.9 miles every day for the rest of the year. Doubt Ill hit it, but should be close!

I use Strava. Works well for running, cycling or walking.

I run 3 miles (flat) 5 days per week, but I took a month off for a back issue.  I hope to be running again by next week.

Check out Endomondo.  It's free and I think it does a great job with stats.

I do now... Not by choice... I'm required to run at least 1.5 miles daily at work and my Sargent is a running nut so we run close to 3...
Hate it till I get the feel. Then it's all good.
