Mavericks

This friday Mavericks is suppose to be rolling and the competition is to be held. Here the news said 40ft waves.   

All up and down the coast! Till 9pm fri night... BIG swell long duration with abnormal sneeker waves... Storms in alaska do this. Gonna be BIG out there. Breakwaters and shorelines getting hammered. Lots of food into the water so perch and halibut could be in close feeding in bodega this weekend... Bring fishing gear to Crabfest....

Was working in the Marin Headlands on Tuesday and there were 20 ft waves breaking on the North Bar off Rodeo Beach/Pt Diablo - pretty spectacular.  Those big wave surfers have my respect for sure.

Anyone have a link to a live camera that might be facing the action like the one @ SWS?

There aren't any webcams pointed at the ghost tree area. But it probably isn't as big considering the swell direction.

Damn the was an awesome event watching today. These guys were all awesome and Twiggy was definitely on top of his game!

Saw one yellow (Trident?) kayak in the mix with the PWC's & boats.

Streamed it into my classroom for a short bit.  Saw the Mooch Better out there. 

Also noticed several kayaks out there.
