Next weekend a few friends and I will be camping at Lake Del Valle. I don't have a good freshwater spinning setup and I've never beet to D.V. so I'm going to bring the yak and my 5 WT fly rod. I'm guessing just nosing up into inlets or any structure and throwing streamers will be worth a try. Any thoughts? Also, any warnings on special regs would be great (although I plan to read up on them of course).
Thanks!
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

In other lakes near Del Valle and Delta I've thrown clouser chartreuse with great results. Near the dock would be a good place to start then work the banks.

probably depends on what the water level is like.  I've never fished it really low before, and suspect that's the case right now.

As far as regs go, check out EBParks page. http://www.ebparks.org/stewardship/fisheries

found this nifty UW video

Targeting stripers, trout, bass, or panfish?

I'm guessing just nosing up into inlets or any structure and throwing streamers will be worth a try.

Structure, yes, but sadly I don't think there'll be an inlet.

Based on the reports of where the larger stripers have been caught (south end and narrows), I'd have to believe they're feasting on planted trout.  Not sure what that pattern would look like in a fly though.  Definitely have some sort of clouser/bait fish pattern.

Don't know of any special regs other than live bait and it doesn't sound like that will be an issue.
