Now that we know more about you Vic, The possibilities of a more direct brand of info comes to light. You didn't cross any lines. If I made you feel uncomfortable I apologize. Craig. Ive been on kayaks fishing since 1978.

Your a cranky old fart Craigers.  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

I've been fishing from a kayak since 2004. Met chuck and Freddie fishing lake Chabot in 2005. Joined NCKA the next year. I fish the ocean from April to December. freshwater January to march. Logged 483 miles chasing salmon last year.  I use 2 boats most of the time: Hobie Adventure Island and Eddyline 12 Carribean. Those 2 enable me to target all species and fish all conditions. Hobie AIs are awesome but heavy and takes more time to rig and clean which is why a lot of the Islanders own Eddylines as their second boat. Like Jed said, the best is to own both types. Be aware that some NCKA members are sponsored by kayak manufacturers so recommendations may come with some bias. After you have been on blog for a while, you will figure out who is sponsored by who. I have a trident 15 which I use to target yellowtail and a Malibu 2XL which I use for family outings and guide fishing.

I don't think any lines were crossed.  That's what we do here ... discuss!  And as you've found out, many here will go above and beyond to help a brother out.

I was given lots of advise by many on this board when I got started in 2007.  Which kayaks to consider, safety first, what color kayak (I had a dark green prowler all picked out when Mooch chimed in and said "I hope you're getting a yellow kayak, you want to be visible out on the big blue"  So much for my green kayak!  :smt012 I was even told what paddle to consider. There are many fine people here who want you to be successful at this great sport. Ask away my friend and you'll get some really good advise... There are several quality brands. You need to check them out and paddle as many as you can to be sure you decide on the one that's suited for you. I currently paddle a "yellow" :smt002 Prowler 15.. I'm going to be checking out Jim's Raptor very soon... Looking forward to seeing you on the water soon!!!
