I grew up going to steele park [Lupine shores] . My family had a mobile home trailer there. It seemed like every weekend we were at the lake. Just looking at Google maps on the satellite view I was SHOCKED to see that there is nothing there anymore. The marina, restaurant ,motel, store, ice station ,boat storage, the metal slide at the pond and the shitter/showers that were in the middle of the parking lot all gone. Totally blown away !

When the leases expired the Feds made the new people tear everything out, down to the last piece of concrete.

Tim, my family had a trailer @ Spanish Flat (sunrise pt directly across from Steele Park). We spent a lot of time up there and made so many great memories...sold it all in 04 and never went back. Until BSS2 when we camped at Lupine. I paddled over to our old spot and hiked around to check it out. Hopefully they rebuild a campground there some day. I remember paddling a surfboard across to Steele Park with my sister to buy popsicles when I was like 10...good times.
