There has been a few of you who have been asking for some pictures of the current water levels at Folsom lake. Here you go!

I spent the day with family and friends hiking around the lake at several locations looking at the old exposed bridges and building foundations. It was pretty cool but man was it crowded. We even tried to get into Brown Ravine but cars were backed all the way up to Green Valley Rd.

Pictures-
1. Salmon Falls-South fork inlet
2. Salmon Falls- Old Salmon Falls Bridge
3. Folsom Point (aka- Dyke 8 ) - Facing the Dam
4. Folsom Point (aka- Dyke 8 )- Looking towards browns Ravine
5. Folsom Point (aka- Dyke 8 )- Campground area
6. Salmon Falls- South Fork additional inlet

Thanks for the photos!  That last photo, is that at the Salmon Falls Bridge on Salmon Falls Road?  There's a place to launch there when the lake is high.  If so, I would bet there could be gold down in that channel.  Might have to go out there with a pan and metal detector and see what I can see next week!!

Abdiver - those pictures are amazing!

It's just hard to imagine how far our once beautiful lake has fallen.  :smt010

I didn't even know that bridge was way down there.

The last photo is from the little parking area off of Old Salmon Falls road. You take Salmon Falls road to Falcons Crest Rd. and a quick right on to Old Salmon Falls Rd. It was a little inlet to the lake, the foundations looked like a small bridge abutment.

I believe the search is on for an airplane that crashed into the lake.

Ya, I read that in the Sac Bee, the mid air collision happened in 1965 two miles south of beals point.

So there are old foundations of buildings that once stood where the lake is/was now? Within those foundations would probably be a cool place to take a metal detector.

Looks a lot lower than when I was there on New Hears Eve. No rain in sight. Oh no!

Thanks for the photos.
I am really hoping for some torrential downpours in February and March and April and even May. We sure need it.

Whoa that's crazy low. I remember seeing a bridge like that at Berryessa during the 80's drought, normally under 100fow.

Thanks for the pics Erik - amazing.  Was hiking around out of Browns with my 6-yr old buddy Friday evening after work - certainly going to get more interesting.

I was out there with my family the other day .Wow is it low ! The water districts might run out of water by the end of March if I am not mistaken.
