Drove up to Lodi with my wife and purchased a new and my first yak. A Predator 13 from Dan at Headwaters. Great experience and great customer service, definitely worth the drive.
Just need to get a wetsuit now (got everything else and already spent too much money, oh well we only live once), install the ff and I should be good to go, pretty excited....

With a little delay as I have been sick.... But anyway, I went for my first trip OTW last weekend with a friend of mine. We staid in the Bay (Alameda) as it made me fell a bit safer for my first trip.
What did I learn:
 - well first that I can't load my yak by myself on my wife Sienna. Need more practice or need to come up with a solution (I screwed up my back in the process)
 - then I'm out of shape. I already knew that but it made it extremely obvious...
 - love the Predator 13, very stable and comfortable. Very happy with the boat...
 - also love my NRS wetsuit and Kokatat PDF (when I grow up I might switch to a drysuit)
 - need to learn to paddle better (maybe I'll take a class combined with safety)
 - need to get organized better and position all my gears in a more efficient way. I guess it will come with practice
  - lastly I should be pay more attention to tide and so on. Not only all the other fishermen arrived when we left but it was a bit hard to paddle against it on my way back.

Overall pretty happy but a lot to learn. That's what also make it interesting... Few more trips and I should be ready to go with some of you guys :-)

That's a great spot Frenchy to acclimate yourself to your new boat and get some paddling practice in. You arevery wise to point out the things you will be needing to deal with in order to better enjoy the experience on the water. The Predator 13 looks good. I still have to get my MX out.
