Any change in the shirt design this year?  Would love to see something new and exciting!  :smt007

It'll be fresh, but you know me - simple and consistent is how I want the gear.   :smt001

Dude I love the shirts.  The KISS method rocks. I've got a nice rainbow thing going. Damn near a whole work week.

Exactly, Chad - I love sporting blue, red, green, pink and soon orange Linghead Vectors and yakker silhouettes.  Black GS shirts will likely be collector's items one day...   :smt003  I better start printing some extras to put in my prepper vault.   :smt005

Can someone give me some info on the road from Hwy 101 to Shelter Cove. I will be towing a 31ft trailer. When I made my reservation for the campground the guy told me they could accomodate the length if I could get it down there! Threw up a flag for me to question the road and should I just leave it at home. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ben

I'm glad you're coming, Ben, but watch out for the hill coming down into the Cove - there have been many RV and trailered vehicle crashes due to the long, steep grade coming down to the ocean from the last ridge.  Here's a vid:

If you know how to drive a heavy load down hills you will be alright. Most people don't know how to pull heavy loads downhill. They will ride the brake the entire hill trying to keep the speed constantly slow. Better off running low gear, and when the speed starts to creep up, push brakes hard till you almost stop, then continue off the brake. I was advised not to bring my motorhome last year for my first trip down there. Once I drove the road I know why the recommendation was there. I would have been OK, but left my MH at home and rented a house. I considered bringing the MH this year, but am renting a house again.  Hope that helps.  Diesel with a brake would be the best.

If your tow vehicle is a 4x4 truck/van with manual locking hubs in the unlocked position, you could shift the transfer case into low range and run in a much much lower gear and almost never need to touch the brakes.  You will be rolling at turtle speeds, but not kill your brakes.

Don't try this if you have auto locking hubs.  You will destroy them on any one of the many tight turns.

BTW... Registration and check are in the mail!   :smt006

The last 6 miles are a pretty steep descent. It's doable, but 31 is pushing it IMO...depending on trailer weight and the tow vehicle.
The thing to remember is that going slow is acceptable. Because the crazy locals would pass you regardless...even if you were going 30mph. So don't sweat it if you have to creep downhill in low @ 5mph.
But I'd look into renting a house if you want comfort. The town is pretty dang small. The furthest rental house from the campground is maybe 3 miles.
I'm sure others who have experience towing a trailer down Shelter Cove Rd will chime in too.
