Also, whacha got in that 30 gal aquarium??? I used to be quite into aquariums.

Spirit and was called "the world's fastest plastic boat."
PRS model

The tank has multiple functions but is usually used to house agents or mudbugs.

The mudbugs are not very nice to each other so..."there can be only one".

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

That looks great - will you need a second layer to achieve the sound reduction you're looking for?

Good idea. I will try stacking the turfs on another boat. At least in the impact areas.
Ill need to see if the Conseal will bond to the H-turf or just make a mess.
The material is easy to work with but not nearly as flexible as Conseal.

About increasing comfort more than sound dampening with this boat. I did not feel that the H-turf was flexible enough for the bucket so I only used Conseal with this boat. Im not sure that this is the final evolution but it will work for now, and Ive spent enough time in the lair. Its time to get back on the water.

Considering another material for the work space base. I will still be using the other products for tougher angles, but this has much better sound dampening potential. Its thicker and softer, so I won't be applying to the plastic in any pseudo permanent way. If I go this direction, I will most likely use velcro to keep it in place vs nothing at all.  I have multiple fishing trips on the calendar so it may be a bit before I get a chance to work on this project again.
Anyway, the blue doubled foam is the foundation that I'm considering.

Just a quick follow up. Seadek now offers a template for the Jackson Coosa.
That would have saved me more than just a few hours of work but Im still glad that I did the project from scratch. I learned a lot.

I was thinking about this a while back...does the SeaDeck/Conseal/H-turf material absorb or retain moisture? Because the mussel inspectors can be awful strict sometimes. And I'd hate to get turned away due to wet/moist padding.

The Conceal product and Hydro-turf don't absorb any water. Ill know more about about Seadek soon.
I recently ordered the deck pad for the Coosa and plan on using it as a template for the other Team B-port guys that also paddle this boat.

Most of my seats and straps do absorb some water.

I noticed that the Spirit Ski link for the PRS doesn't work anymore.
Here is their primary site.
http://spiritpaddle.com.au/ProductDetail/17/PRS-SKI

I really miss that boat. But it will be a while before I will be able to store a ski again, and by that time roto-molding may be replaced by 3D printing and Ill be able to design my own boats.

As expected, the Seadek product will be a perfect template for other boats (Coosa) using other materials.
Its seems to be of high quality but slightly different than the Conseal or Hydro-turf.
It is stiffer and not as cozy on the feet.
It is slightly thicker than Conseal, but not as thick as Hydro-turf.

The Hydro-turf on the workspace rail of the T40 showed me the not only does it decrease the amount of noise but it helps hold a measuring trough in place.
Seadek recognized this as well and I like that they added strips to address that area.

Only time on the water will show durability and long term stickability, but right now, Hydro-turf will be my first choice for my boats.
