Sorry for the last minute change but we will be going to Lake Chabot instead.   I plan on getting there 6ish and launch around 7.

Company is always welcome, will be on CH 69.

I was at Shadow cliffs all last week with no luck from shore.  Boaters did really well, with at least 5 or 6 fish over 8lbs.  biggest I heard of was 12lbs.  The boaters who did the best were trolling deep with downriggers at 21-26 ft, with others doing well drifting for trout in the middle of the lake.

Of course.  I took that kayak for its maiden voyage at Shadow Cliffs too!  That kayak has some good trout mojo!

Thanks for the tips Ben. I just might have to install my downrigger this weekend before heading out.

I was out on the 28th with the gf and dog and didn't catch anything either. Not much for the shore guys.

I was at Quarry last Wednesday 1/1/14.  I caught 2 trout; 12 and 13 inches both on Rapala J7.  A few bankers were catching some but most were not.
Its a small lake so when somebody talks loud and gets excited you can hear them.  There were 2 other kayakers who got skunked.  Water level is a good 12 feet low.

Thanks for the info guys.  Seems like Quarry is a little low so I'm going to head to Shadow Cliffs.  Although I do like the smallie by catch at Quarry.   :smt003

Hey Tony, what were you guys using on the 28th?  Powerbait or trolling?

I've been trying to sweet talk the wife into letting me go out to the cliffs this weekend in the boat or kayak.  Not sure if that will work because of the little ones but if you see a dune revo 11 or a 14' starcraft with dual downriggers that's me.  Otherwise I might be on the bank again with the little girl.
