It doesn't bother me a bit.  I assume they also drive 60 mph in the passing lane and complain that their Starbucks coffee is too hot.

A guy I work with likes to call it my canoe.  It bothered me at first.

So I was picking up a friend and her Ph.D. sister.  I was lazy and didn't unload my kayak.  As we were getting in the car  her sister says, oh, you didn't take your canoe off today.  I said no, I didn't.  And it's a kayak.  The Ph. D. says,  well they look the same and they both start with "c"
