WOW! what a report. I too am happy everything ended up OK. My condolences on the loss of your kayak!  :smt010  At least it sounds like you won't get much grief for getting a replacement. I'm sure my wife would never let me hear the end of it  :smt044 :smt044 Seasons blessings to fish another day!

For whatever reason we have been spared a bad outcome for many years as far as sharks is concerned. I can't explain why and when God calls our time. I do know know I am glad you are alive as well as me. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I am headed to Channel Islands tomorrow and want to do a little fishing but I definitely will not be going out alone. With out a buddy along this could have been a much different story. Never again will I go out alone in the open water. He is doing fine but may still be processing things. Time will tell how he feels about going out again, I would not hold him to anything either way until it all settles in. It was a surreal experience for sure.

Wow what a crazy story! I am new to the sport and was wondering about shark attacks. I'm also super scared of sharks so I'm thinking I'll stay to the shallows as long as I can. Glad everyone's ok

Glad to hear you two are relatively good.

The last few attacks have been in water from 20' deep and out. If you stay in the shallows I think there is more chance of being hit.

Yes but the marker is 1/4 mi south of the launch which is in the cove south of "state park". It is on moonstone drive in Cambria.
