Not to be a putz, but I received a blue wristband at Joel's memorial. For whatever reason I've been wearing it ever since. It reads "Success is living the life you Love" Perhaps that is what you meant. No doubt you love your time OTW.

Thank you Jim, You're one hell of a guy, I'm glad that you made it through the challenges of 2013.  Like you, I found the strength I needed to make it through the year in the community of NCKA.  The laying to rest of our good friend Mooch was a day I will never forget, being with over 100 other kayakers all choked up and crying for the worlds loss put my challenges in perspective and made me realize even more what a family I have here.

anyway, that might not make much sense, I blame wine...

 Great, well actually incredible post, thanks for sharing. My year was much easier than yours, but as Mooch said to me once; don't let bad and negativity in your life. Of course that's easier said than done, but you, Jim, have been "successful" this year. I'm sure Mooch is happy that we are all caring on in life, taking care of other NCKA'ers, and trying to live a "successful" life. Mooch will continue to inspire the people who had the privilege to know him and many who never had the chance! I also believe that you are a great inspiration to the people around you; keep diving and posting!!!

Beautiful!  Perseverance is an admirable quality, and while the lows tend to drag us all down, if we can keep moving forward, we are blessed with incredible experiences like you just shared!  Way to make victory out of defeat and honor those lost by "living the life you want"!  SUCCESS!
