I recently purchased a Hobie Outback (6 years old) with sail kit. I took it out of the port of Vallejo just to practice, and I felt as though it was really causing me to list quite a bit, even when it was furled. Does anyone use the sail without the outrigger kit? I'm starting to think that if I actually want to fish with my sail on, I'd better get that outrigger kit.

I eventually got the Sidekick ama kit but for a while I used the sail by itself. I always put my rods in the hull while sailing without amas just in case a big gust blew me over. The Sidekick amas are actually pretty handy & you can remove or deploy them easily while out on the water.
