I showed the picture to my daughter and asked her to guess the weight of the lobster. She said "8lbs". Told her it was a shame that she was never gonna be featured on the media because she didn't know how to exaggerate fish weights.   :smt005

If that is really 18lbs then I stand corrected, because there is also a man that stands over 8 feet tall.

Probably not as delicious as crow but it's still a great catch.

Yeah  right  more  like  8 - 10  12  would be  a  stretch I've  bagged  bugs  over  10 that  were  bigger then that.  I  was  with  a friend of mine who caught and  released an 18  pounder.  the  legs on  it  where over 1 1/2 inches  thick.  Unless that  guy  is  freakishly  large then   no  way.

Adds a New creature to my hit list! Loves lobster yet it so far exceeds my spending capacity as to be un-obtainable! Was NOT aware they were even here! Wonders how long I need be a non-smoker to become a diver scuba that is? Has 7 days so far n the wife is cutting back the chantix because apparently I'm Manic, figures I'd best Google manic!
Avid lifetime sports fisherman,Caught three monkey-face prickle-backs  today two very large, cooked w/skin on in oven garlic salt and pepper generously sprinkled ! It was Absolutely Delicious! Never more will I remove the skin until after cooking, likens the skin to either freshwater trout or salmon and the back-bone pulls free just like a trout in a single piece, merely remove top and bottom sets of bony prickles, they also come off as a unit if your careful w/a common fork,It's another white meat tougher than fall apart fish, yet flakes quite well! Three Eel's fed 6 adults w/ enough extra to feed two more adult servings,Perhaps Breakfast. Another trip tomorrow/Loves the end of the year low and negative tides it allows me to fish up to waist deep, yet catch 2'4" prickle-backs w/ fat slabs of meat(Can u tell I've Always been a meat fisherman?) Why would I bother catching any critter w/the possibility of causing its death/catch and release is for under-sized fish and affluent anglers!

I'd rather have 2 or 3 barely illegals. I've eaten those larger ones and they always taste like s#%t. The yonger ones are much sweeter. Throw it back to make babies.
