Ouch!  Spike gets another black eye on NCKA...   :smt009

Correct me if I am wrong but NCKA I believe only holds the AOTY which runs all year and is very straight.

The point is that none of the tournaments are run by NCKA. I myself have run and organized get together s involving many Kayakers but at no time was my quoted statement meant to anger any organizer or give any other organizers of events a black eye as you put it. I think that for eveyone's sake it should be known that NCKA is this form and not in the business of organizing tournaments.
I have not organized tournaments for competition but a little in fundraising. I know the work that goes into these events especially when a few hundred people show up. With that said my hat is off to those who do organize tournament's or fund raiser's.  But at no time did I ever think that any of the fundraiser's were part of NCKA. But boy did NCKA members show up to help, yes they did.

So LoletaEric if I hurt or angered you please accept my apology.
Sincerely Frank Sacramento also known as frankfishing on this form.

Not even, Frank - sorry for putting you on the defensive.  I just wanted to stress that even though NCKA doesn't run events the vast majority of the events advertised and administered through this site are way above board and they are the heart of NCKA, IMO.  I hope you make it to GS8.   :smt001

This sucks.

But out of this suck is something good to be said.

Hats off to all you folks who do put on great events and deliver goods as promised.

It's not easy keeping track of all those folks and money and other stuff etc etc.

Hope it all works out for everyone.

I haven't received my shirt. I can tell you that Spike seems less than available for his commercial interests recently. I messaged him about paddles(expensive) that he reps and got no response. It (the KayakFishing.com Fall Classic) is a nice albeit a spendy event and I echo what another member said, "we will get our shirts if he wants to have another tournament". So I will approach this turn of events as a warning but mostly like my child does when she sees an ambulance, she says, " I hope everyone is okay"

I hope that Dennis is ok wherever he is. I'm sure that he is struggling over all this. The last time we all fished the fort together it was fun. If you see this Dennis and I can help you straighten it out, please let me know. Craig.

Sort of already know what happened - an event was held (including a raffle), money got took, promises made, no goods received.
"Why" it happened is interesting , to extend appropriate sympathies and such.  that's why I axed about death or jail (preferably neither, and I yeah, i join the chorus of hoping he's ok).
But we already know what happened.

Spike once returned my call, despite being on a guide trip, in Mexico (years ago).  With the proper motivation, Spike can be thoughtful.
Regardless, if I paid into the tourney and dint get broke off, for months, I'd be pissed and contemplating all kinds of evil chit.

I saw his rig with his kayak on top roll through the town of Graton last week, can't say it was him driving though.
