Kokatat Drysuit leak ---UPDATE---

I bought a Kokatat Hydrus 3L drysuit less than a year ago. Worked fine for a few months keeping me warm and dry, but on my recent trips I noticed I was getting soaked around the butt area. First I thought since I pee a lot otw that maybe somehow some pee ends up inside. But on one of my trips I didnt pee at all and I  still got wet. I didnt notice any obvious punctures/holes and I always have the zipper shut.

Is there a protective coating that maybe wore off that I can re-apply or is it time to send it back to Kokatat for service??

I would send it back for service.  It should be under warranty and I've had great experience with Kokatak in the past.

I have heard of the seams getting streched infer certain conditions. Pm me please. Thanks.  I would call the store you bought it at or kokatat. Kokatat , like Sonny said, is really good about that kind of stuff.

There is a DWR coating on the material that can degrade over time. It's easy to renew it with a wash in product or spray on. But this takes years to degrade. It sounds more like a warranty issue. I will also add I've sent in dry suits that had 3 holes that we knew about and asked to have patched. After leak testing there was over 10 patches needed. Some holes are so small you'll never notice them.
Call Kokatat and get an RA number. Write the number on the box and send it in. Make sure to have them leak test it.

I haven't got to fix my drysuits but they repaired old my jackets.
They're simply awesome!!!

So I ended up  sending my drysuit back to Kokatat. I received a call a few days after they received it. They said that the problem was in the seam. Funny cause it looked perfectly fine to me. Guess its microscopic. Well, instead of repairing it, they sent me a new one....AWESOME!!  . When I received it though, I called them right away and told them they sent me the wrong size. It looked humongous and it was stamped XL inside. I didnt even bother trying it on  I sent it back to them again after they emailed me a prepaid shipping label. Then they called me saying that it was the RIGHT size and sent it back to me. Got it today and tried it when I got home from work and they were right. I feel really dumb now for not taking the time and effort to actually inspect the product when I got it the first time. I felt bad and emailed the rep that I'm willing to reimburse the extra shipping fee they paid for.

Hats off to KOKATAT customer service. They truly know how to make their customers satisfied. Now all I need is get some much needed water therapy.

Glad to hear they took care of it.  From most of the experience I hear about, Kokatat has great customer service!

They provided excellent customer service to me too...when I tore a hole in my SuperNova T3 Angler suit. They repaired it free of charge and were very helpful on the phone. I got it back within 2wks of sending it too.
