Picked up Joe (skyboy) and launched with ease. Small swell on the launch kept everything dry.  Decided to fish close today assuming that not many people fish much before the slide.  .2 miles out along a jagged bottom I hooked a decent Copper on the first drop.  Fished a little more and made our way out to the ship wreck area.  Picked a up a mackeral on a Diamond jig. God I hate those pesky little guys.

All told I kept a limit of Rockfish and not one single ling.  I have to admit I was looking to get a limit of fish for this might be the last ocean water fishing for a while. Summer is over for me :smt011.  We went as far as the base of pedro but managed only assorted rockies.  First limit I kept from LM.
2 1/2 hours of fishing and a pretty constant bite.  Unfortunately Joe donated one of his nice rods and reels to Linda Mar.  :smt010.  150 bucks is the estimate.

It was a good day on the water, Jason spanked me on the fishing, but even with the loss of my favorite pole, I had a good time. Ive taken some time off work as well as fishing to get my house up to par. That is almost done, now its back to work, and hopefully I can squeeze some more fishing time in too. Thanks again Jason, great day, great company.

I'll be out there tomorrow (Sat.) diving, and I need a new pole. Where'd you drop it? :smt002
Seriously, let me know and I'll take a look maybe.

Joe,

Sorry to hear about your donation. And one of these days I'll probably see you on the water.

Here's a link to a 6500/Berkeley Lightning rod combo for $99. I'm going to try out the rod tomorrow, but have very high hopes for it. It's a 7' one piece Musky rod. Should be just the thing for 6-10 oz diamond jigs. While certainly not anything to take a lot of pride in, at $99 for rod and reel if I lose it I won't cry for a month.

Probably to late to find a lost rod Rich but it was lost at the BIG Point 50 yards NW 45 ft of water.. I think finding a needle in a hay stack would be easier.  LM is not going to turn on for Salmon but Rockfish are not to bad/fun (not quality but constant action).  It is time for me to try  Bean Hollow or a new launch at pigeon.  Got to do it quick down south.  Talking to the docents the other day at Ano and late september the GW's start to show up in force.  In october they have up to 12 per day.

Scott, would love to meet up with you and hit a new spot, anytime. 650-359-3886.
Freddie, well my story. The night before I was on ebay and saw a great avet reel and also found a nice pole. and mama said I already had a nice pole, soooooo, I let it slip away so I could get a new one! :-D. Well that makes me sound a little better than the acual story.....lol. I was messing with a small rockie I just caught and just wasn't paying attention. I have now purchased plenty of extra pole leashes. It won't happen again.
