for me. Not so much for my neighbor.
Finally got some snow.
Had the oak trimmed up about 6 or so weeks ago. Looked real clean with all the excess taken off.
Woke up to this this morning.
Didn't hit my truck or any of my power lines.
It did take out my neighbors power lines.
For all I know he's still sleeping.
Already called PGE.
That could have done some serious damage if it hit anything but the street.
Today is my lucky day.
Guess who will be bucking wood today?
Time to really crank up the fire pit.

Yikes!  Glad to hear that there was no real damage.

By the time you're done, you'll have some of the best wood around though.  :smt003

Becky said she did. Looked out the windows and didn't see anything so went back to bed.
This time of year, I'm out like a light.

Definitely a widowmaker.  Be safe!  Thanks for a snow report.  We bought ski passes for Sierra at Tahoe this season, just waiting for a bit more coverage.

Thankful it didn't do more damage. That piece of wood on the right looks hollow. Might just be the angle or light. Glad you're safe.

Are you adding to your firewood cache now, or do you have to wait for the city to respond?

No, I want it done this week.
I've already cleared the road. Two neighbors helped haul it into my driveway as I bucked it.
Got a fire in the pit going, pulling the trailer out and going to haul most of the slash off to the dumps.
Told the neighbors I would make 3 even stacks of wood and split it with them for their help.
My back is cursing me big time. Going to be a hot tub hot toddy afternoon fo sho.

That big piece looks kind of hollow. With a little more work you'll have another kayak or canoe  :smt002

Those limbs sound like a shotgun going off when they snap.  Not surprised Becky heard it.
BTW, here's snow pic from my place.  3" last night

We had a couple inches on the ground down in Lotus by the river overnight.  Plan to drive up to Pville later today for errands and maybe to pull some city slickers out of the ditch with the towe strap.

Glad to hear that there was minimal loss, and that the neighbors came out to help.  I have noticed a huge difference in sense of community between the foothills and the sac area.
