Do you Dangle?

Sometimes without thinking about it I dangle for comfort, I dangle for balance, I dangle for some room on deck,

But after reading most GWS yak attack reports I try to keep'em in the footwells,  I remember the pic of Adam's sandal, and think about how it could have been different.

in some water areas yes...my twp trips to remoter areas NO...felt pretty sharky by malpaso and the few small sea lions I did see seemed as scared as I was to be out there..Mbay sure..before this report that is..???

Yes, I dangle for improved balance...when retrieving gear from the tankwell or pulling a snag...or when paddling back in super rough seas. I also dangle my stringer of bloody fish (they bleed better in the water).
I'm more concerned with falling out of the kayak due to my lack of balance. And with sealions trying to steal my stringer. Compared to the thought of a gws biting my danglies off.

my name is Adam,,,i am a GWS attack survivor. I dangle for comfort & stability. I do not hang fish off the side for too long anymore.

I do for balance, for comfort on that rare occasion I actually find warm water.  Or when I am bringing up up crab traps ..okay also for balance.

It's all about the angle of the dangle.

I occasionally dangle and don't know that the situation in Hawaii will change my habits.
