Hi everyone!

Gemini man AKA Tony.

Bought a used Trident that I have used about a half dozen times this season.  Several solo trips out of HMB, Pacifica, and SF Bay.  Have only caught shark out of Pacifica while attempting to catch salmon. Also lost my tackle box on the same Pacifica trip making a shore landing coming back in.  Got rolled by an incoming wave.  Yes, lesson learned!$$$  Looking forward to hooking up with some of you that better know the area and where and when to fish.

Got the fever and need to bring something home so I can stop taking crap from the wife...lol.

Hi Tony welcome to NCKA.

You should go back to Pacifica one of these days and just practice launching and landing the surf. Leave your fishing gear at home and go have some fun. That way when you do eat it, which you will, you have the peace of mind that you didn't lose gear.

When I do launch it is straight hull only or one aka/ama.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

Welcome and you are a perfect fit.  I found that crab is easy way to keep family happy and when they are happy they don't care about the gear so much.

Welcome Tony.  Keep your eyes on the hookup section.  A lot of us hit HMB quite regularly so one of us should be able to get you on some fish so that your wife stops giving you crap.   :smt003

My goal each time I go out, is to come back safely so I can go out again.  It is best if you stay within your comformt level.  You are dealing with a force, mother nature, that can be dangerous at any time.  I would recommend that you go with others until you become confident, and then still go with others when possible.

Happy yakking.

Look to the north coast, there is a lot of really good fishing down there.  I am still looking for the kayak for me, but I have many friends that go out all the time and they are always talking about and showing me pictures of all the great fish.  That is the first place I put in once I get a kayak.  I am thinking about putting my bass boat in and checking it out next summer.
