That was cool! My guess would be a striper too.

Great video! My first thought on the visitor was a striper. I see I'm not alone on that thinking!  :smt002

That is correct: 60 meters {190+ ft}. Deeper than one would expect sufficant light in our waters. Stiper is reasonable guess. I'm leaning toward oversized croaker but I really want to believe in the sea bass theory. Regardless it is pretty cool. With all that crab bait I'll bet there could be some other fascinating creatures in the area  :smt002

That was cool.  I always fish around my pots while soaking, figuring there must be other stuff attracted to the chum slick... but never have even gotten a nibble.  Thanks for posting that and re-igniting the stoke.

You guys are high if you think that's a striper! Look at the damned dorsal fins(s).  :smt003

Very nice.  Almost looked like the crab as going to eat your GoPro!  Very useful camera.

How DARE you point out morphological characteristics Pat!?  :smt044

But yeah, the two dorsal fins look to be soft-rayed, the caudal lacks any kind of fork, and other than the distinctive lateral line I couldn't see any obvious black stripes.  This leads me to retract my guess of "mondo white croaker" and replace it with the  almighty BAT RAY!
