Anyone ever been in the laguna?  What is the area like.  From what I've been able to find online it's boat access only.  It seems as though you could launch from hwy 12, Occidental Rd, or Guernville Rd.  I've been checking it out on Google maps but haven't been able to get over there yet to see what kind of launch sites are available.

Lots of it appears to be choked up with grass that looks impassible according to the satellite photos.  I know the place is supposed to have crazy high mercury levels in the fish but I don't plan on eating any out of there anyway.  It would be sweet to have a place only 30 minutes or so from me to try and catch a few bass though.

Just trying to see if anyone has any personal info on the area.  I've Google researched it to death but really can't find anything worth while that specifically addresses the hunting or fishing in there.

Very polluted. Don't even know if people catch bass there, but I do know they get catfish and panfish out of there. If you have wheels you can access it from Occidental.

I personally wouldn't bother fishing there, but I wouldn't mind paddling it sometime. I've lived within ten miles of the place for the last 20 years and I don't know sh*t about it!

There is a website for it.  We have talked to staff with the plans of paddling there, but we always seem to misplan, it is an "after the winter rains, early spring place to goto" kind of place.

We used to get crawdads out of the Lagoon when I was a kid . . . maybe that's how I got the stuff I had?

Never really considered Laguna de Santa Rosa due to being very polluted. I think there are groups working on cleaning it up thou I believe!!

I agree Spring Lake being a better alternative!!

I paddled it a few years ago sorta boring launched at the Hwy 12 bridge and paddled almost to Gurneville rd it's gets narrow in spots but passable with a kayak. Threw a frog for a few hrs for nada looks fishy but it's not. Make sure you read the regs I think it's the only trib of the RR that you can fish but you can't fish for salmon or trout and it is closed during the winter. I think it closes just before T-Day and reopens in April. I think it's Barbless hooks no bait. There is Riverfront Park off Eastside Rd.

Yeah, Riverfront has 3 lakes/gravel pits, but you can only fish 2 of them!! Anybody know what the biggest bass has been out of Riverfront?

Best during flood to get over the few fences.  Launch from Occidental road and go either way.  I've paddled my canoe from Guerneville rd. to almost Todd rd.

You are allowed to duck hunt there and there are ducks there. So there you have it. Right there.

After a rain i wouldnt touch the water, the sewage system overflows. And you can shoot ducks. Right there. From a kayak..
