I was wondering if there are any women who like to ab dive and scuba off their kayaks? Id like to get a few of us together because I never see women out there on these trips and I really would like to go and cant go by myself and affraid to be intruding on the guys. Let me know and we can make some plans.

Vikki,

I don't think any guys that I know on here would think you would be intruding....if you ever want to dive with me just let me know.

Brandi is an excellent diver and a great person, so maybe shoot her a PM....I'm sure she knows other women who dive as well.

Hope to meet you OTW one day.

Sincerely,

Jim

I have a purple scupper pro that's permanently reserved for brave women!!!

Sorry, no sexism about colors, it's what I wound up with - technically it's my wife's but since she hasn't gotten on it in a year & left the seat & paddles on the beach last use, I'm counting on a jealousy journey as my last attempt to motivate her.

I drove both our kayaks to Baja, got us flippers & masks & snorkels & couldn't get her past the break. After one attempt, she came off the water saying, "I'm a lake girl." The sea life at the kelp beds was amazing & I alone witnessed it.

Last time we were OTW together she rented a SUP for a paddle stroll in the bay. What can I do to get her back in the saddle?

Perhaps knowing some other ladies do this would get her re-interested.:'(

There are quite a few lady kayak anglers on here...these come to mind right off the top of my head:

sctrace
canikillit
sara
christina (mrs. fishworks)
saintofcircumstance
BigJ
bunny
narisa
miss ashley

Just not sure how many dive...Brandi is the one female diver that comes to mind.

Like I said though, if your'e looking for a dive buddy, post a hook up or shoot me a PM. I don't SCUBA anymore, but will freedive with you for sure.  :smt001

A tad late to the party on this thread.

Fellow angler lady interested in learning how to do the whole kayak free diving and scuba thing. With hopes to get into the wholesome fun of spear fishing.

I own my own ocean kayak and immersion gear but have never free dived/scuba'd before. I love to swim and am willing to invest in the needed gear/classes to get started.

Please pm me if you're still interested in starting up a group!

Always up for crabbing, poke poling or just picking up rock fish in the Capitola kelp beds. Feel free to PM if you're setting up a trip!

My wife just went out spearfishing for the first time last weekend and is looking for some buddies to dive with. I don't dive (I fished from my yak while she dove), and she doesn't kayak (yet) so she's looking to do more shore dives right now. I know she would be fire up to dive with some other women and she's really keen to give ab diving a try as well as spearfish. Let me know if you want her contact info,
Coleman

Very cool to see women getting into it.  Liz would have lived yo have female fishing partners when she was out here.
