I am getting that itch again to head out to the North Coast and try my luck again. The only places that i have been are Timber Cove (it was extremely Windy and unfishable for me at least) but i really liked the lay out of that area and would love to give it a try again in better non-windy conditions, i could see how that area would produce a bunch of fish. The other place that i have been is Anchor Bay with Rider and Rockfish and that place was nice except i had some "freakout issues"  because of logistical miscalulations of my gear and essentially i freaked out when we got out into the deep water but i really liked that place, it was nice and it seems there are a few really good places to catch some fish over there. I would love to make it back out there...

I write all that to say this, I bought my yak to go into the ocean and catch some nice rock fish but have yet to do that. I am wondering if there is anyone going to be heading out up that way maybe in about 2 weekends or so and if so i am wondering if i would be able to shadow some of you if you are going. I dont have enough experience out in the big blue to be goin out alone and would love to be able to head out with a few/group of experiences saltwater anglers.

Have a good day guys, hope to hear from you through out the day about my request... or as it get closer.

Most will be crabbing the next few weeks. There is the simple fishing tourney on 11/9 which you can sign up for. You can rockfish at any of the crab spots but HMB has better rock fishing than Doran. There will be guys hitting the Sonoma coast on combo trips this weekend. PM Raydon. The WX looks doable so far but I wouldn't make the call until Thursday. November-December can be schetchy as far as WX so be careful.

Noobie question alert... what does WX mean?

WX is more than weather, so it's not worth typing out all the time.  It's wind, waves, currents, trends...etc. - to me anyway.

Too bad you're a ways from Humboldt, Lucas, or you could hitch a ride with me.  Season closes here after Thursday, so I might have to get out one more time before Trick or Treating...

I hope you get a good hookup.  It's good to want something, but don't push it if you don't feel right.  Have fun.   :smt001

Note that a true west swell get's into everything and a big south swell is usually a stay at home and watch football weekend.
