Thought I would share a couple of YAK repairs I have completed in the last few months so you could see that not all "cracked Yaks" have to be abandoned or scrapped.
Wildernesshunter had his boat jumped on by some curtain climbers while it was upside down with a Scotty rod mount base in the dirt. The force of the jumping pushed the base right through the hull leaving a gaping hole big enough to put in a hatch cover. (Well almost) but he decided to have the hole made whole again instead, so I accepted the challenge. All I had to do was weld the piece back in place.   I ended up with a really nice repair, using 26 stainless steel 8mm staples a couple of Poly rods.
This week Tigerfish was referred to me by Wildernesshunter ( thanks Brian) to have a look at a factory defect in a Hobie drive well ,  that was letting the sea in. Seems Hobie under built the support base and pedal torque might have caused the break. Not a big crack but still we like to say " say no to boat crack." So eight 8mm staples and weld in a stick or two of poly rod and back to the salt for Dave.
So if you find a "crack in your Yak or a hole in your hull"  don't give up there might still be hope.

Will post photos and video in the future
