17 October – Kayak Fishing for Trout

Fall and winter are sweet times of year for chasing trout in the foothills and mountains of the Sierra Nevada. With the cold nights and shortening days the lakes are turning over and that brings the big trout up with the cold water.  Crowds have thinned out from the summer, with few boats on the water. We’ll cover a number of kayak trolling and drift fishing basics for chasing a limit of trout, and some of the tricks and methods for targeting big browns and mackinaw.  We’ll cover down-riggers, shallow trolling, jigging and drift fishing for trout in tailout and open water situations, as well as, safety and clothing appropriate for fall and winter conditions.

Please post-up if you will attend the seminar so we can get a rough idea of numbers.  Days are getting shorter so this might be our last BBQ/potluck  for the year - CCK will provide the man-dogs and fixings, plates and utensils, and water. Potluck will start at 6:15-6:30 and we’ll get the seminar started around 7 PM. Hope to see you there.

Not too late at all, just show-up if interested.  Just trying to get a head count for the BBQ.  See you soon.

Wish I could make this, got some family in town for dinner.
I've talk to a few guys who fish the Sierras regularly and they are doing well right now.
