I personally never had the honor of meeting the man/the legend but just from the posts that everyone has put up and seeing how highly everyone spoke of him i am sad that i never got to meet him. I am new to NCKA (8 months give or take) and just in that short amount of time, I was able to and I'm sure anyone else that has been on here semi frequently was able to see how much of an impact that Joel has had on this community and this site. I am proud to be part of something that is bigger than just fishing from a kayak... this is a subculture and a very tight knit community that reaches into everyones lives that has delved into this lifestyle/hobby. It is pretty unique the type of bonds and connections that kayak fishing brings out in a group of people. the ability to positively impact a family in the way that I have noticed over the last few months is such a blessing to his family and it is something that needs to be addressed forthright. I am proud to be part of something that Joel helped build even if i never had the opportunity to shake that man's hand.
