Hey everyone, I'm starting a new weekly hook up in Redding. The idea is to fish a different local pond or lake every week. Everyone is invited to join in. If you or some one you know needs a kayak to come out and join us or would like to demo a new kayak let me know. We're launching at 2pm but will try to stay relatively close to the launch spots or have a VHF with us if you cant make it till later and want to meet up on the water.
This week we'll be fishing Lake Shasta for a little bass action.  We'll be launching out of Centimudi launch ramp at 2pm this Wednesday Sep 25th.  As you approach the boat ramp you'll notice the water is down pretty far.  At
the end of the ramp on the right hand side there's a road that goes out to a small point that's perfect for launching Kayaks.  Check out Headwaters Adventure Fishing team Facebook page for more updates or call Jeff at the shop 530-223-2411. no excuses lets get out and fish, even if only for a few hours.

Watch out for the north winds.....

Today
Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain showers in the morning...then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 66 to 71. North winds 10 to 20 mph. Local gusts up to 30 mph.

I tried to hit W-town yesterday @ 8:00 am, whitecaps all the way up to the 5 mph buoy  :smt013 in whiskey creek.
Headed home to save WAF points for a better day.  :smt003

Good luck, be safe....

I've seen Shasta go from flat to 4' waves in under 2 min.  :smt012

Well I did it. Rain, lightning and thunder when I pulled up to the launch. Waited about 30 min while I ate some lunch then it cleared up. I got 3 solid hrs of sunny skies and no wind. Sadly I didn't catch any fish but at least I made it out. Stay tuned to the headwaters Adventure fishing team Facebook page for the weekly spot. Next week we'll be hitting Whiskey Creek for some kokanee trolling and maybe some bass action. There will also be updates on myoutdoorbuddy on the paddling page.
