Way to go nephew, that's awesome that you took first. and for my 1st time being on a kayak, I placed 7th.. not too shabby, excellent tournament and atmosphere.. great people all doing we love.. I want to give a special thanks to the two guys helping everyone get out of the surf.. those were some pretty narly waves breaking on shore and I know I would have went down if it weren't for them helping.. really nice. thanks ryan for putting this all together, and cant wait till next year..

Where do I start. I first gotta thank Ryan for Setting this Top Notch Event, It was a blast and ryan did a really excellent job with all the setting up, captains meeting, Swagbags, Shirts, Location, and for getting some awesome Sponsors to help support this event. I truly felt like i was at another NCKA tourny or hookup. The central coast kayak anglers really know how throw an event and fish. Well Done again Rhyak, Well Done. Major Thanks for the local Kayak shop for kicking down the Awesome grandprize, The 2014 Hobie Outback. Major thanks to FishEye Channel for getting it All on Video and To everyone who donated to the Potluck, IT WAS AMAZING AS USUAL!

Tournament Day we all launched and it was quite a lineup to see, The adrealine really was thick in the Air on Sat. After getting out, I was actually having difficulty finding any decent structure I liked and early on was getting and lil skeptical of my fishing..Then i came across a boiler rock and thats when my game plan completely changed..Ended up fishing nothing but boiler rocks all within 20-25ft of water. Tried something new and it pulled off. Was throwing swimbaits into the boilers and slowly reeling them back in near the bottom. Halloween of course and mostly on 1.5oz lead heads. I have never fished Rockfish in anything shallower than 35ft! Lesson learned, dont forget about the SHALLOWS! It also produced my PB Rockfish, A huge 21in. Verm. The greenling, which was pretty much the kicker, came right out front of the launch and bit on my teaser hoochi, pure luck! After making back thru that wicked surf launch, it was quite a show watching everyone tryna make it back thru that. I think everyone who fished the tourny was watching the next guy come back in cause thats how BRUTAL and hairy it was coming back in...MAJOR THANKS TO  THE TWO FELLAS HELPING OUT ON THE LANDING, everyone appreciated that Im sure.
All in All, I had a Fabulous Time fishing with my cousin and Uncle who are new to Ocean Kayak fishing. Way to go  Uncle on your first time out and Success. He's hooked now. It was also kool seeing my fellow NCKA BROS and spending quality time with yall at camp...Andy, Dillsmill, whos got it, SacScrew Baby :smt044 :smt044 :smt005...Love ya Bro!...And to Central Coast Anglers, you guys rock. Great group of fishermen..Lastly But not leastly, Major Thanks to Rob (Diroblo) for donating the winning tackle( I left my whole tackle box at home :smt013) and for helping and offering to take the Hobie Home for me. CAMBRIA SLAM DOWN II ROCKED! I WILL BE BACK!
