Never been there but I see there is a lunch on the list.

I pllan to spin some anchovy, work towards Angel Island, whatever looks good.  *note: I hear there is a swim to Tiburon from Angel so will steer clear of that.

I'm still a newbie, company always welcome.  I will plan to be on the water at around 7AM, I was told NKCA likes channel 69 so I'll have it tuned in.

Happy fishing

-Steve

There is a ramp there -- be careful as it can get SLIPPERY.

The current can rip pretty quick through there, too.

It's on my list of options for tomorrow so I might join you. I think the park opens at 7 & parking is $10.

The Tiburon Mile is next week if that's the swim you heard about -- crazy bastards swim into Raccoon Strait!

I wouldn't go towards angel island as the current does rip and around the southern point of paradise and making your way back can be quite difficult! My suggestion would be to work the area from the pillings north to the southern point. This was you can use the current to your  advantage and tides to set up your drift. The buts I have caught tend to be around the sandy drop offs. And or and little humps of structure. Find the drop offs you'll find the Butts and won't have to work your ass off to do it! Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the pointers.  I did get out in those currents between Paradise and Angel and although it was a challenge its very doable.  Similar mixing near the pilings I noticed.

That launch is not optimal, not sure I would recommend although the rangers bend over backward to be nice.  You have to drive down a pedestrian path to a "launch" that would launch nothing more than a kayak in its best day. $10 to park, good cause I guess.

The fish - like i said, I'm a newbie to ocean/bay fishing; came from freshwater Bass fishin.  I trolled/spun anchovy/herring on a mooch rig behind a dodger up and down that stretch.  Also tried halibut rig bouncing on the bottom for an hour or so in the 20-30 depths to the north.  Even tried salmon fly rig with trailers of squid.

I had one bite all day, stripped the anchovy clean.  This ocean fishing sure is hard to score but I love the scenery.   At least I got a great workout with 6 hours of trolling/paddling &  I can't lift my arms...

Like someone already said here. The point at Yellow Bluff is no joke on a super strong outgo. Coupled with a southerly wind it will create breaking waves there. The launch there is cake. What can make it dicey if you are not paying attention is the wakes from the big ships as they roll in there.

Good effort, Steve. Not too bad a place to get used to the salt.
