I used a mepps flying C green body with silver blade at benicia state park on friday and was fortunate enough to get my limit.. I usually go with rasta color flying C or silver blade with a color body.. Also I go with the heaviest lure with a big blade I think its 7/8 and or 5 which ever is bigger.. All this is from shore too

Benecia bait and tackle custom make their own lures labelled Ve-Ze lures. They look great although I have never used one I saw a lot of action off them at the state park last year.

They're heavy & spins well w/ low speed so I really like them!!!
If anyone can get me some, please let me know.

Thanks!

I been prepping my wife to not see me much in October.... I'm IN!! I am planning on fishing every sunday in Oct, plus Friday evenings and maybe half-days on most Tuesdays, so let me know when you want to go!!

PS. anyone have any opinion on whether I should use a split ring between the wire and the hook? I have a ton of wires, I don't see changing hooks too often, if I am dying to change one I can just replace the wire pretty quickly.. Please excuse the lumpy powderpaint, just got that a few days ago and haven't quite figured it out yet...
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

If you're trolling the Sac, the bigger the blades the better.  Though I have a large collection of Silvertrons and do quite well with them, I prefer to fish the larger size 7 cascade style spinner blades in chartreuse, brass or silver. The bigger blades allow you to troll downstream slower while producing a 'kwikfish' like thump.  As far the spinner body goes, stick to darker colored beads (purple, blue, black).

I haven't worked my way up to trolling yet, these boys are for pitching! I should grab a couple silvertron blades and twist a few trollers up though, thank you for the tips on the colors! :smt003
