Okay, I done with these damn pop-up!  On this laptop, somewhere something got turned on that's opening pop-up adds when I cursor over certain underlined, or highlighted words with in the texts of posts!  I'm done with them! Have to know how to get rid of them! Turn these damn things off! :smt013
Anybody have any clues where the settings for these obnoxious, time consuming, bothersome , PITA settings may be?
Someone please help before I get in trouble for tossing this work laptop across the room!

There is most likely a program running in the background.  Had this happen before & had my IT juy fix it in a few seconds but I vaguely remember what he did.  I somehow remember something running in the taskbar/background that he turned off.

More work, less web surfing   :smt002 :smt044

Yeah, you got something running in the background.  Hojo went through this recently too.  He had some sort of Coupon Companion addon enabled in his browser.  Check your browser addons for anything suspicious.

Usually caused by hard core porn sites, at least that is what I have been told.  Never had the problem myself.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Hey, I work in IT for a living. Go download and run ComboFix. It will remove malware/rootkits. After it's done, download and install MalwareBytes. Run a full scan, remove everything it finds.

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

When you upgrade stuff on your computer, gotta pay attention, when clicking through the install screens, for (checked) boxes that will install more than you're looking for. Oracle is a good example when upgrading Java or Flash. Malwarebytes did not flag my issue because it was one of those apps where I did not uncheck the install box.

Thanks guys I'll look at your suggestions.  This crap is happening on my work laptop, I'll have some time to investigate while I'm up in OR. Again for 2 weeks.
