Just stumbled across this link on something called "Flooming" that people use for aerating ponds and fish tanks and found it pretty interesting.

Might have to give that a shot next time I have some bait to keep alive!  Fountain Pumps are cheap at hardware stores like OSH, Home Depot, etc.

it probably adds air to some extent but temperature might be an issue

Looks a lot like the setup they use for small ponds except the "pond" way uses a filter around the pump & usually sprays or mushrooms the water above the surface.  Good link though for those of us with tanks.  My summer project for next year will be a large or very large pond at home.  Always wanted one big enough for a good selection of koi or other fish.

I have an 8 gallon nano reef tank and it's been running for 3 years now.  Live coral, inverts, and fish.  The only thing you need to do to keep it oxygenated is to keep the water cycling/moving/churning to create agitation at the water surface.  Anything to keep the water moving will keep the water oxygenated, so that should work if you have a pond.

Nice! :smt007  I've always heard the smaller the saltwater tank is, the harder it is to keep "alive".  I was constantly taking care of my 100gallon SW when I had it.
