I am going to Yakhopper's tiki event in October and am camping overnight with Big J. I want to practice paddling some more before I try going out in the Delta. Otherwise, we will just watch or fish from shore. Can't wait!

Not much tide to worry about. Boats are the thing to deal with mostly. Welcome and see ya on the water (ps,,, Girls win this event all the time Good luck!!!!)

Good idea getting your paddling skills mastered before you get to deep, so to speak. I'm sure you'll get lots of practice in. And then probably win the tournament too. Good luck and welcome aboard, Little E.

This will be my sons 1st tourney also. Last year it was my first tourney. No need to stay on shore just stay with the group. I would take my 7yr old if I had a yak for him. This event would be safe for a first time paddler if they stay with the group.
Hope to meet you there. Almost sounds like we're ready for a youth division.
