Granted it is not finished construction yet, and you are paying toll, but by the current construction budget that bridge has cost taxpayers $551,000.00/per lineal foot. It better knock your socks off and make breakfast afterward for that...

I like the looks of it from your photo. Kinda reminds me of Carquinez bridge Southbound at night, very nice and serene. Now that the bridge is almost finished, I just hope they can do something about the mad traffic in that area.

Came across it last night around 10-10:30 on my way home.
Beautiful piece of architecture. Absolutely stunning.
Then off to the right in the shadows was the old bridge.
Looked a bit eerie.

A lot of people and unions got rich off of that bridge.....and Gov. Brown wants to build a bullet train.....

Cool pic though! I'm just reeling from what it cost us (and what it will cost our children).

And some giant tunnels that have a FIFTY-YEAR construction schedule, and a $25 billion dollar budget.. So the question is, if the Bay Bridge went from $1.2 to $6.4billion and went from a 5 year schedule to an 11 year schedule, what do you suppose our Ca government will do with a $25bill/50year schedule? We will literally be paying for two generations of contractors to finish this, maybe three?

Expect a big hike in toll soon.
It took our dysfunctional state government 25 years and $6.4 Billion to build a four mile bridge they told us would take just five years and less than a billion. Nobody has been held accountable for this colossal failure and waste of money. Now, the same cast of characters is telling us they're going to a build a 400 mile High Speed Rail system, which will include dozens of bridges and tunnels, right of way purchases, environmental reviews (and delays) track, power delivery systems, operating systems, stations, and trains, and it's going to do all that in the same amount of time and at just ten times the cost of their half-a-bridge in San Francisco Bay.
No one in their right mind would believe such a claim. So, California, are you ready for your Trillion Dollar Train?
