I mounted a Cannon Uni-Troll 5 ST on my MalibuKayaks Pro2Tandem and took it out kokanee fishing on Lake Tahoe. The fish were down at 97 feet. I like this upright configuration of Cannon for the kayak and self breaking, so no levers to mess with. I didn't really try for the Lake trout in there. Check out my rig! Downrigger, Deep cycle batter and trolling motor, all to catch some 11-14 inch Kokanee Salmon, haha! Took me a little bit to get the video put together, this was a couple weeks ago. Didn't catch a whole lot. Maybe 15 and lost some more in three days fishing. Was amazing weather though! I love it up there.

Yeah I launched off Baldwin beach... that's a pretty sweet little place and the fish were hanging around out in 200 feet of water off the beach.

Nicely done!  97' is deep!!!  Certainly easier to bring your DR up from that depth.  I can't imagine having to haul my Scotty up from that depth.

If you want to see ingenuity, check out Tote's electric DR with remote!

Couldn't tell but don't forget the CF numbers since you're motorized.

Thanks, my kayak is registered with CF numbers on the front.  Kind of crazy that you have to register an electric motor, just a money grab.  Shocking this state is broke with them charging us for every little thing.

Yeah this Cannon cranks 2:1 and super easy cranking on the vertical plane right between my legs.  Wasn't sure how it would work after reading on line that you should use a light downrigger with braided line instead of cable and that is causes so much drag and balance issues.  This is a big down rigger and it was not problem.  Now an electric rigger would be sweet... but I can't afford that right now and I don't mind the exercise, haha!  Here's the rig.
