What's up NCKA?

I'll be hitting up Dux or some other salmon destination again next weekend. Who's down for a Saturday salmon chase?

GET 'EM WHILE YOU CAN!

NOTE: This is a hookup for Saturday, 9/7/13. I just noticed that my title said 9/5/13 for some reason.

I'm scheming for sometime this week

The entire local commie fleet is there at the moment

Wasn't a single sport boat when I was there, one small commie out of Bolinas otherwise nothing but stick boats

Duxbury is a reef which extends out from Bolinas, CA (up the beach from Stinson). We'll launch from the beach in Bolinas and paddle/peddle out about 2-3 miles to the area around the Duxbury buoy (buoy says "1DR" on it).

I'd be all over it if I had the time

More fish should be coming down from the north

Most of the sport boats will be absent and not sure if the commies can fish weekends these days

Even if they're there they're a lot more tolerable to be around than the sport fleet, less fumes and more civilized traffic

Not looking good for me this week

if I go it'll be one of those drive up paddle out paddle in drive back kind of days with maybe a good solid ten minutes of fishing in the zone

Hope you find the fish, theyre out there

Thanks, Paul.

I don't mind sharing space with the commercial guys. They were pretty thick out at Dux last time I was out there. I just stay out of their path and they have always been pleasant company.

Seems like there should be another big push of fish any day now. They are starting to catch them at California City, so there are definitely fish moving through. Surprised how few Marin reports there are on Coastside. Everyone seems to have tuna fever (I have not yet been infected).

Anyway, I hope we find some on Saturday. I'm confident.

Cheers,

Alex

Wasn't a single sport boat at dux when I was there, only small boat was a commie out of Bolinas, who is a good guy to follow if you want to know where the salmon are

Everybody's at cal city or fishing tuna, looking for the hot bite, scouts have always been in the minority

The herd instinct could work in your favor, the air will be a lot fresher without all those sport boats around

Was out last Friday with Diroblo.  OTW for 7.5 hours, mostly trolling, a bit of mooching when I wanted a break, covered alot of water.  Foggy most of day, cleared later in day.  Didn't find any high concentrations of bait, but alot of small, scattered patchs of bait.  Only one bite late in the day (1400 or so) - 16-18# salmon trolling a RSK-herring combo (35 pulls, 1-lb ball, 45 ft) down by Rocky Pt.   Was hoping to find a concentration of salmon but was not to be - maybe next Sat will be the day!  Good luck!

One salmon right now is a nice catch

Were the stick boats still around? Pretty much the whole local commie fleet has been on that area lately

Lordy how I wish I could join you guys, looking more like a short scout at Pedro Pt for me, maybe tomorrow with a little luck
