Arrived today at what used to be Lake Oroville. There's no effin water!

Well not really but almost. It's down 127 ft and dropping. Looks crazy as heck.

I'll do some scouting tomorrow but it looks like hauling the yak down to the lake from the campsite will be impossible. May have to launch at the ramp.

Wow...that's low! Good luck tomorrow Ruben.  Look on the bright side, there'll be less places for the fish to hide  :smt003

Man all the lakes are like this. I took my son for a walk at melones Monday. The lake is draining so fast that there's 5-10 feet of mud before the water. So fast the bank can't dry!! There was a faun dead chest deep in mud that must have died that morning. Just got stuck :-(

Actually the lake is about normal for this time of year.  They usually will dump it around Labor Day for flood control.  Not to mention all the SoCal peeps need their pools filled.   :smt044  Where you staying?  Loafer Creek?

You can always give the Diversion Pool a shot.

Good Luck!  I have my best luck out there with wacky rigged Senkos in Rainbow Trout or Chartreuse colors.

According to the California DWR, Oroville is at 75% of normal for this time of year. Most of the reservoirs are hurting. We had decent carryover before last winter but that water is now gone after a rather marginal rain/snow season.

Check out your favorite reservoir

Thanks for that link, Mistral. Made it up to Bucks and it's perfect. Will post report and pics when I return.
