Weather is looking good so far...thinking of do a 2 day trip if the wx looks good at the end of the day on sat. If you have never hit Tdad and you want to, this weekend should be good. Kris/elongatus and myself will take you on a tour if you want to join us?

From Palo Cedro it takes me 3.5 hours so I may leave the night before and stay the night at the HoJo or try getting up early. If I leave by 4:00 am ...get there at 7:30 on water 8:00... I might want to get up eariler or just spend night. :smt001

Jeff if you want to stay in close in protected waters you might try the south end of the harbor. Eric and Dominic fished there at Rock Fish Wars and did quite well. We went around the point and north and didn't do as well as them.

Bring face and ear protection against Flatiron Flys. There are approximately eleventy billion of them per square foot out there. I use a bandana to cover ears, nose and mouth, otherwise they would crawl right in.

We try and stay away from flat iron and hit other spots, they were a pain on sat for the first half out then got better. If wx is good we are going as far north as we can and then drift or peddle back.

The drift was south to north today. Not strong.

Watch that south influence - it can be unpredictable and may turn the bite off.

Here's Eel River buoy this afternoon when it was supposed to be calm:
