No, I just want a much lighter kayak when I fish the lakes and rivers.

Wow, Don you got all the nice toys!  I did not know that you also have a tandem AI.  Ang yaman mo naman bro!  So how does your carribean handle all the bumps and scraping into rocks and rocky beaches?  Does it get knicked or gouged easier than than polyethylene kayaks or is it really much tougher?

Gouging on Eddylines is way less than Poly boats. ABS plastic is much stiffer by nature. It will not gouge like Poly does. It is however more venerable during hard impacts such as dropping off a car or coming down hard on rocks, but even then it can be repaired. The typical glance and blow hit or beach landing is actually where it shines.  I have 3 Caribbean 12' and 2 Caribbean 14' in my rental fleet. They go out 3-5 times a week which works out to about 100 per season of hard use. They have held up so much better than any of my Poly boats. I literally treat them like a cheap poly boat and let anyone rent them and take them wherever they want, and I've been pleasantly surprised with how well they have held up. I will say that the seats take a beating from the sun, but with rest of the boats clean up really well. FWIW coming from an Eddyline Salesmen :)

Spent some paddle time - thanks to Dan from Headwaters - great boat! Just like the others had mentioned - don't treat it like a plastic boat - other than that, it paddles well!

I did. I love the eddyline. I fish Pigeon point about twice a week and its awesome for inshore gorilla fishing.
its super fast to set up and light enough to take down stairs and or cliffs on your own..Also super maneuverable when you need to get close and between wash rocks etc.
Just have to be a little careful with it. :smt003
and one more thing. I find that my 12foot eddyline is more stable then my single ai without the outriggers. Go figure!!
With this said I think ultimately it's going to depend on what type of fishing you need the boat to do. I still use my hobbies for  long range trolling and big water.

I wanted a lighter kayak and bought the Caribbean 12 a couple months ago. So far, I've had it on the lake, American river and at Albion. I fished off it for 6 days at Albion without a problem. Felt very comfortable. Actually, my back and butt is more comfortable on the 12 than on my P13. Ended up spending more time on the water than usual. Easy to load. I can easily pick it up and load it on my SUV.

They look good too.
