Don't think that's gonna fly with SCBBBC's rules.  http://www.scbbbc.com/rules.html

12.  Livewells:
All bass shall be kept in a follow-me bag or livewell. Livewells must meet or exceed the following dimensions: Minimum 48 quart ice chest. Plastic bins or storage totes are not allowed or approved to use as a livewell. Livewells must also have an electric bilge pump with a Minimum 500 GPH (gallons per hour) set up so it fills the livewell with water and creates oxygen for the fish by spraying the surface of the water. Livewells must also have an overflow for fresh water. Battery operated oxygen bubblers should also be used but are not mandatory. During special running tournaments (see rule # 26) bilge pump and bubbler must be running at all times during travel and at the weigh-in line. The use of rejuvenate or bass meds of some sort must also be used during running events. Homemade live wells and\or follow-me bags must be pre-approved by the Tournament Director, (see website for video on how to make a livewell) Tournament Director Assistants or club officer. Bass kept for trophy purposes may be kept on a stringer. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification.

That is a follow me bag by their rules from their website. Don't think that would work well behind a kayak though.

I wish!!  I've only been to Berryessa once and it was the south end about a month ago.  The tourney was on the north end and I didn't get to prefish.  The day started out okay with me catching fish along a rock wall on topwater.  They were all dink smallmouth that didn't make the minimum 13".  I switched to a drop shot and worked some fish I spotted on the graph in 80ft of water.  Managed to hook 1 legal smallmouth that threw the hook right at the boat.  He was probably 16" or so.  I abandoned the deep water (since I'm an east coast angler I'm used to fishing shallow grass) and went searching for something more familiar.  There was very little grass in the area I was in.  I worked what vegetation I could find with spinnerbaits and a split shot rig but still only managed the occasional short smallmouth.

With 2.5 hours left in the day I pulled out the big guns and decided to go for broke.  I threw big swimbaits the rest of the day and managed one bite from a six pound largemouth right at the boat that pulled off after only one run.  I had lots of followers on the big baits with most fish showing interest in an 8" Triple Trout in baby bass color and also on a Deps Slide Swimmer 250 in Butch Brown natural trout but nothing else wanted to commit.

In the end I didn't even weigh a fish!  Kinda funny though.  Still there were several people that mentioned my speed and range advantage both at the weigh in as well as on the forum afterwards.  I just commented that I was sure why my kayak didn't catch any fish for me that time!! LOL

Guess we'll see what happens next month in the two day event at Clear Lake!!
