What's up guys?

I'm just putting the feelers out to see if there is any interest in a Marin coast salmon chase this weekend. I should be able to swing a dawn patrol either Saturday or Sunday. The bite at Dux is improving by the day, and with the recent hot bite at Elephant Rock, we should have more fish moving in.

What'ya say?

UPDATE: It's on for Duxbury on Sunday!!!

What did they expect after making a bloody mess of the beach?

Hopefully they will move on before this weekend...

Another possibility would be to launch from Lawson's Landing and head out around the corner. The tides are pretty ideal, actually. Ride the ebb out in the morning, and catch the flood back in early afternoon.

I'll be watching the reports...

Very interested. Sunday works best for me. Lawson's is kinda for from Dux though... I'd hate to get caught in a strong headwind on the paddle back.

Lawson's is VERY far from Dux (access via Bolinas).

I wasnt very clear there... If the bite is happening near Bird or Elephant Rock (south of Bodega, by Tomales point) we could launch from Lawson's and have favorable tides.

Let me figure out my schedule and see if Sunday will work.

Uh huh, now I get it, that might work. I've been trying to figure a way to access that area and Lawson's really is the only "doable" option. Even so, it would have to be ideal conditions otherwise it could get hairy weather wise. And then there is the man in the grey suit... he does kinda own that real estate around the point... I'm not generally paranoid about GWS, que sera sera and all that, but that area is notorious for it's "activity". It'd be foolish not to consider it.

All true... I'm definitely leaning toward Dux, just keeping my options open.

Rick Powers reported a great mooching bite off the trees in 60 to 80 feet of water on Monday. I would love to get out of Lawsons to fish that Aria some time, in fact I went to the North Beach at point Reyes yesterday to scout it out, however, the swell was too big
I d fish with you guys this weekend except I'm headed to Trinidad tomorrow.
California city should be getting hot soon too.

The landlord owns that area around elephant rock. The WX is forecasting 10kt for that area also. I am thinking a PB or AI would be the vessel of choice.

I've done Lawson's out around the point in a PB enough times to say I would never try that in a kayak, that's can some tough big water, with a shark thrown in, and there are closed areas around there too, bring a radio and some food and water and you'll be ok. My two cents would be a Bolinas launch, go three miles south, keep the reef to your north, and your at Dux bouy. Or you can try Muir, park on Muir woods rd, wheelie your yak down the road past the old parking lot, take the next left and that goes down to the nudie end and catch fish. Im hitting Big Sur, good luck!

Alright. I am 100% in for a Bolinas launch bright and early on Sunday.

Plan to troll/mooch around the Dux buoy or south toward rocky point or Muir if that's where people are catching.

Who's in?

USAFishing.com predicts a big pile of salmon moving south hugging the Marin coastline over the coming weeks.
