VHF radio needed

Hey everyone, I need a VHF radio to stay safe out on the water. I live in Santa Cruz. I have been kayak fishing seriously for several months and i think a radio is the only major piece of equipment I still need. It should be waterproof with a reliable battery. I cant afford too much. I am a student living of my VA benefits. Let me know if you have something available. Thanks.

You really need a radio dude. West marine gots them for around a bill. Get the insurance so when and if it has trouble you can take it and get a new one. Invest
