New to kayak fishing and looking for a stable and comfortable yak for ocean fishing (mainly out of Santa Cruz and Half Moon bay). Any recommendations?

Lots of variables to consider. height , weight, paddling experience, personal preference.......

Look into Ocean kayaks, Wilderness systems, Jackson, Malibu, among others.

Hit up either Half moon bay kayak co or kayak Connection, tell 'em you are shopping for a kayak and they should apply any rental fees towards the purchase price. Used to be they would let you demo boats for free but i think that time has passed.
One other thing, if you are new to paddling (but not fishing) take any sort of into to paddling class or set one up with Allen Bushnell.
Safety is paramount. We are paddlers first, and fisherman second.

Thanks for your comments. I'm indeed new to paddling and tried kayak fishing for the first time last week with Kayak Connection in Santa Cruz. I had an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 but I'd like something a bit more stable and comfortable. I'm not getting younger and stability and comfort is more important that performance... Read good review on the Predator 13 but mainly for lakes nothing really on ocean. One of the guide has a OK Big Game and it also looked stable and comfy

I parted with my OK T13 for more stability.  You want to take a hard look at the Jackson Cuda 14 and the Predator 13.  I have/had both.  It's a coin toss for me - wouldn't say one is better than the other althought there are slight pros and cons.  Here's a review of the Predator on the ocean.

I too had a OK T 13, and gave it to my son, I have been on a OK Big Game and loved it. But I just got the Predator 13, and I think it is even more stable than my Big Game.

keep in mind that as you gain experience stability becomes less of an issue.  However getting out to distant fishing grounds tend to increase.  I paddle a  trident 15 but I know several guys who paddle an x factor and can get anywhere the fish are

You should check out the Hobie Revolution kayak it has the HANDS FREE mirage foot pedal drive system so you can troll all day long with your legs.  I just bought a revolution 11 and I love it, I can see myself trolling alot more.  I tried trolling with the conventional kayak with the paddles and my arms would tired out so fast couldn't get anything done and no fish.

You can do alot more with the hands free drive system...
