The lower price point kayaks have there place but if your talking about taking it out on the big blue and doing some serious fishing I would stick to the proven kayak brands from a reputable shop. Jackson, Hobie, WS, eddyline ect. Higher end kayaks are worth the investment if you plan on putting any amount of time on the water. Tracking, storage, and build quality are all important things to consider when looking at a new kayak.
As far as length goes, the Hobie outback is only 12' and its more than capable in the ocean. I wouldn't hesitate to take a cuda 12 out anywhere I've fished. At Albion there was even a few Eddyline Caribbean 12's out doing just fine. It's not always about the length but how the hull is designed in general.

Limion. I do have special NCKA pricing on all my 2013 right now. The 2014's are coming out and actually went up $100 due to some upgrades so nows a good time to get one.
