fishing inside of santa cruz harbor ?

I read reports of fishing inside santa cruz harbor for salmon ? tried to get answer from bayside, capitola pier. no straight answer. called fish and game office Monterey. left message. any advice. thinking of heading out tomorrow.

My brother-in-law claims that his buddy landed a 20 lber inside the harbor over the weekend.

Last year when a group of us went out for wsb, the seals were having a salmon orgy right off the docks.  I wanted to stay and hook some pink, but was not sure.
