Deep six to the main line and just green RSK after the deep six.  Worked well.

Flashers and Dodgers are not required when using and RSK or FBR; they generate there own movement in the water. I run the RSK or FBR directly behind the Dbl Deep Six; an 8'-6" Fast Action rod also helps keep the tension of the line (and the hook firmly buried in the jaw), while still allowing enough length to net a fish even with a 6' leader behind the Deep Six....

The one who dies with the most toys, WINS!

I'd shorten the distance between the deep6 and flasher. Better yet, use a salmon bungee instead and it's going to take a whole lot of effort/shakes for that pink to come free.

Shorten the line from the deep six to the flasher and never, never grab the line with your hand on a hot fish.

If you use a bungee should you then loosen the screw on the deep six a little so it will release when you get a strike?  One of the fish I lost I noticed that the deep six never released.  How tight should it be?

Tight enough so that it does not release while you are trolling, loose enough so that it does release when you give your rod a quick jerk, or when the salmon or something big tugs on it. Slow day at work, Rey?

Broke line = drag too tight

No broke line=he grabbed the line with his hand.  (= NO drag)

Thanks all for all of great advice., Hopefully all you wrote will help me net my next salmon. Lesson learned DO NOT GRAB THE LINE WITH MY HAND ESPECIALY IF THE FISH IS NOT TIRED OUT. Shorten up my set up, work the fish till its mote tired, don't rush because I'm afraid of loosing the fish and  loosen my drag.
PS. Matanuska this stupid question will always be asked by newbs like me, who in turn will help out the next newb making the same stupid mistakes we all make.

Triangular flasher (kone zone, fish flash) - 9-12" diver to flasher, 42" flasher to RSK

9" Herring dodger 2.5-3' diver to dodger, 22-27" to RSK

Re-tie all stock leaders and replace the hooks for RSK, FBR and KA. I use 40# seaguar fluoro carbon leaders for bait hoods and hoochies. 25-30# flouroclear for apex and spoons.  I use Matsuo Sickle hooks siwash and octopus. I use a 4-6 turn San Diego Jam knot for the siwash hooks and a fixed snell knot for the octopus hooks. For big game fishing, rod, reel, line, knots and hooks all have to be perfect to maximize your chances of landing the fish. You are going to lose some fish because the hook unbuttons but you should never lose a salmon or c bass because the line breaks.

As others have said don't leader a salmon unless they are belly up. If they run under the boat, lean forward and get your line around the bow and fight them from the other side. When get them boat side, keep the rod tip low, then lift the rod tip so the fish is facing up then scoop the net underneath.

You can even clip a triangular flasher directly to your diver.

The plane causes cavitation which slows the rotation of the flasher. It does rotate attached directly to the plane, just not as fast.

Another option is to use your gaff if you know it's a legal sized king. Gotta play it out till it's tired or if it's coming in hot, take your time and don't scare it with your huge net. Just because you can see it, it doesn't mean that it has to go into the net immediately.

I recommend watching a series of short videos showing different situations as well as different aspects of the preparation that's needed for bringing a salmon onto your yak.  :smt001
